Born in Santa Barbara and raised in nearby Ventura, David Partrite originally moved to Northern California to attend UC Davis, where he graduated summa cum laude with a degree in biochemistry. After taking a year off for travel, he began work on his dental degree at UC San Francisco. Loving the Bay Area, he decided that this was the place to live and raise a family.
While in dental school. Dr. Partrite began to realize that old school dentistry was not how he wanted to practice. So after dental school, he sought further training with Dr. Hal Huggins, a pioneer in mercury-free dentistry, as well as through the International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology.
“Silver” mercury amalgam fillings and other metal restorations were not only unaesthetic, he learned. They can have an extremely negative impact on overall health, as well. Clearly, there was more to dentistry than just teeth.
Dr. Partrite has been a continual student ever since, constantly seeking to learn more in the ways of holistic dentistry and integrative medicine. In fact, each year, he averages nearly three times the amount of continuing education that the state of California requires.
Dr. Partrite has a true passion for knowledge and how to make dentistry better for his patients.
When not caring for patients, Dr. Partrite enjoys spending time with his wife Audrey and their two children, Taylor and Lucas, and helping coach his kids’ sports teams. He’s also a musician, having played the piano and the guitar since he was 5 years old. Since Taylor has taken up the piano, they have yet another way to spend time and have fun together!
